Janelle Austin of Cirrus Logic Understands How Important Housing Is for Families to Flourish
Q: Why did your organization support the 2022 Austin Habitat for Humanity Woman Build?
A: Our Cirrus Logic Women’s Leadership Team (WLT) is all about women helping women, in the workplace and in our communities. Not only is this a great way for the WLT to do team building through philanthropy, but it also gives us an opportunity to empower women and fulfill their dream of owning their own homes.
Q: How do you and your organization empower women in the Austin community?
A: We partner with non-profit organizations that concentrate on educating young women and girls to stay in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) related studies. We believe that supporting them at an early age will encourage them to pursue higher education in STEM-related fields, increasing women in engineering careers and fostering the next generation’s technical leaders.

Q: Why is giving back to affordable housing organizations in our community important to you?
A: Growing up with a single, working mother, I personally understand how important housing is for families. A house not only serves as a shelter but becomes a “home” providing comfort and security which allows families to flourish.
Q: What does home mean to you?
A: Home is togetherness.
