Inclement Weather Policy

Our homeowners are working really hard to build and buy their homes, so We Build – Rain or Shine!

However, sometimes Texas hands us weather that makes traveling and volunteering unsafe. If you are planning to volunteer when the weather turns for the worse please note it is up to each volunteer to advocate for their own safety and comfort in traveling to and working on a project site in potentially inclement weather.

When we have an unscheduled closure of a volunteer service event in Construction, Home Repair or at our ReStores:

• A notice will be emailed to all volunteers who have signed up for a project via our Volunteer Calendar, by 6:30 a.m.
• Team leads for scheduled groups will be emailed directly by a member of our Volunteer Services team, by 6:30 a.m. Team Leads may also call us at 512-472-8788  x106
• Please note that Austin Habitat follows the inclement weather policy of the Austin Independent School District during the workweek.
