Faith Partnerships

Austin Habitat for Humanity brings together faith-based groups, local businesses, like-minded communities and partner families to build strong, stable and self-reliant communities through Central Texas. We build homes all throughout the year and there are a number of sponsorship levels to choose from! Check out our 2020 Sponsorship Packet to learn how you can get involved.

What is the Financial Commitment?

It’s up to you! It costs Austin Habitat $100,000 just for the necessary materials to build each home, therefore we partner with faith-based organizations and companies to raise the money needed to afford the building materials. Whether is $1,000 or $100,000 we can build a partnership that works for you.

Who Are We Building For?

Hardworking Central Texas families who are working to fulfill their dream of homeownership. Austin Habitat offers a hand-up, not a handout. Each Habitat partner family pays a zero-interest mortgage, property taxes, and puts in 300 hours of “sweat equity” labor on Habitat communities before moving into their own home. Austin Habitat sets your Central Texas neighbors up for a stable, self-reliant future.

Why Should You Get Involved?

Aside from the benefits listed on our sponsorship packet, and the amazing work that you will be putting into drastically change the lives of Habitat partner families, you will be strengthening both your organization’s culture and your local community. Working together towards a common goal fosters support, community, and momentum for companies, faith-based organizations, and the community as a whole.

Established Faith Partnerships

Bishop John E. McCarthy Memorial Catholic Build

Since 1998, Catholics across Austin have come together to build a home in partnership with Austin Habitat for Humanity. In 2020, we’re proud to say we’re working on our 24th Catholic Build. We are so grateful for the hundreds of Catholic volunteers who have come out every Saturday each spring. Want to get your church involved to help us complete the 2020 Catholic Build? Email Becca Halbert, bhalbert@ahfh.org to learn more.

Methodist Build

Every other year, Methodists get together to fundraise for, and build a Habitat home for another deserving partner family. Led by Gerard van de Werken and his crew, this group of dedicated individuals are a huge blessing for Austin Habitat for Humanity. Want to get your church involved for the 2021 Methodist spring build? Email Becca Halbert, bhalbert@ahfh.org to learn more.
