2025 Carter Work Project Site: Whisper Valley

The 2025 Carter Work Project will expand Austin Habitat’s construction efforts into eastern Travis County with Whisper Valley, a revolutionary community committed to sustainability. Situated between Tesla’s Gigafactory and Samsung’s $7 billion production facility, Whisper Valley will be the first fully geothermal neighborhood in the U.S. Homes will feature geothermal heat pumps and solar panels and be designed to generate more energy than they consume, achieving a Home Energy Rating System rating of 25. Residents will benefit from Signature Park— over 600 acres (twice the size of Zilker Park), a 26-mile hike and bike trail, pocket parks, multiple community centers, community gardens, two gas stations, and on-site elementary, middle, and high schools.
