At-Home Building Bar Activity – Week 5

DIY Succulent Planter

Materials needed:

  • Succulent

  • Soil

  • Container of some nature

  1. Visit your local Austin Habitat for Humanity ReStore to gather inspiration and as many materials as possible. Inventory changes daily!

2. Check out the houseware sections at both of our ReStores to find interesting and suitable items such as coffee mugs, tea cups, wooden boxes, and more. Ideally, the container would be something you could easily and safely drill a hole in for drainage. However, if you move forward without drainage, look out for overwatering!

3. Gather other materials that you may not have been able to find such as the soil and the succulent. Support local!

4. Assemble and admire your creation! Your choice to shop at the ReStore and give items a second life helped divert items from the landfill and build affordable homes for hardworking Central Texas families!
