HomeBase is the affordable housing consulting arm of Austin Habitat for Humanity. Through HomeBase, we are able to partner with developers and builders to create and secure long-term affordability in developments across the region. These partnerships take various forms, ranging from direct involvement in the funding and creation of the neighborhood (such as Westgate Grove and The Canopy at Westgate) to income-qualifying eligible families (such as Croslin Court and the Foundry). We also assist in resales of affordable units to make sure they stay as true affordable housing for the long-term.
Our preferred method of securing long-term affordability is through a Fixed Rate Appreciation model, where buyers receive a maximum of 1.5% simple interest appreciation on their home and are required to sell the home to another income-eligible family. For more information, please contact us!
