Community Build

Not only do we live in an exciting and innovative city, we live in a unique community full of companies who call Austin home, whether they’ve been here forever or have just put down roots. With all of this incredible growth comes more opportunities to build affordable homes for hardworking members of our Austin community. Help us celebrate this growth and the patchwork of unique companies that make up this great city by joining the Community Build!

Tequila’s Home

Tequila is a hardworking, single mother of two teenage daughters currently residing in an apartment in Pflugerville. She came to Austin to look for better work opportunities to support her family, but with high rent prices in the city Tequila works two jobs. Moving into an Austin Habitat for Humanity home will allow Tequila to be closer to her mother and to everything they love about the city. They are excited to have a private space of their own with a yard and space to entertain. She has always dreamed of being a homeowner and feels this will be a huge accomplishment checked off her life’s to-do list. Tequila is beyond grateful for all the support of the sponsors, volunteers, and Austin Habitat for Humanity staff that are helping her to make this dream come true. She also thanks God for the opportunity and support she has received throughout her life.

Thank you to our Community Build sponsors!

Build for Unity

Drawing from the Habitat mission, the Build for Unity project brings people together of all different faiths and backgrounds to put aside their differences and build strong, and stable communities. We can change lives and be the foundation to building the love and unity our community needs. Working together, side by side, promotes understanding and self-reliance. A donation that is meaningful to your organization would provide the opportunity to volunteer and engage with the Habitat homeowner on the construction site. you for joining us as we build strong, stable and self-reliant communities!

Jose & Mercedes’ Home

After visiting Austin and falling in love with the city, Jose & Mercedes made the move from Cuba to their new town. However living in a cramped apartment with limited parking, no access to the outdoors and no place for their adult children and grandchildren to visit, they didn’t see a financial path to homeownership. Until they found out about Austin Habitat for Humanity. Referred by several coworkers in the AHFH programs, they are hardworking hotel industry employees who are beyond excited to have their own space where they can live more comfortably, have guests to visit, and create a vegetable garden in the backyard. The couple is very thankful to Austin Habitat for Humanity’s supporters of the Build for Unity for this amazing opportunity, and they’re so excited to get started!

Thank you to our Build for Unity sponsors!

All Faith Build

The All Faith build brings many churches that are willing to join their hearts and hands to both sponsor and build a home for a local family. For many congregations, a full house sponsorship is not possible – though the desire is there. This is a way that not only brings many brothers and sisters together from around the Austin area, but increases the impact on the participating congregations can make and serves as a sign of God’s love to a family. A donation that is meaningful to your organization would provide the opportunity to volunteer and engage with the Habitat homeowner on the construction site.

Viorica and Vladimir’s Home

Viorica, Vladimir and their sons moved all the way from Moldova to Austin to be closer to family. Like many Austinites, they were faced with the challenge of becoming homeowners. Their current apartment is very small for their family where they have to share bedrooms. With increasing rent prices, it has become difficult to afford a larger space for their family, let alone purchase a home. Learning about Austin Habitat for Humanity from a coworker, they have begun their sweat equity and are excited to move into a space large enough for their growing family. We are so grateful for the sponsors of this years All Faith Build!

Thank you to our All Faith Build sponsors!
